Connector Box Fire Monitoring

This system detects the occurrence of fire in real time, sends an alert, and remotely blocks the fire.

Characteristics of Fire in Solar Power Plants

Additional loss can be prevented by cutting the power line between module and connector box.

Fire in Solar Power Plant can occur for following reasons:

A photovoltaic module reacts to sunlight. Therefore, even when a breaker between a connector box and an inverter is turned on, the electric short circuit inside the connector box remains.

Electric leakage caused by the infiltration of moisture or dust
Loosening of bolts in joints -> arc generation -> fire ignition due to insufficient maintenance
Ignition caused by internal temperature increase due to failure in heat sink device (fan) or damage to key products
Ignition inside connector box due to external electric noise flowing in from various cables

FireBlocking Connector Box

The values from smoke sensor, temperature sensor, and current sensor inside a connector box are measured for real-time fire detection. When a fire is detected, the DC breaker is turned on, and a fire alert is sent through the monitoring system. The fire is then blocked from a remote location through the monitoring system.

Fire Blocking between Connector Box and Module (SUB Connector Box)

Through the primary fire-blocking connector box installed between a connector box and a module, the power line between the PV and the connector box is blocked; thus, the power line and module are protected from fire.
